Why We Like This Place
The Byington Winery and Vineyards are located up above Los Gatos, in one of the oldest grape growing regions in the U.S. Established in 1990, Byington is already reserved well in advance for weddings and special events because of its great location and wonderful amenities. For ceremonies, follow the brick path up to “Wedding Hill.” The path is bordered by vineyards, and at the very top guests are treated to a sensational panorama. You couldn’t ask for more incredible views of the mountains and distant Monterey Bay.
After taking your vows, invite your guests to the upper floor of the winery’s Chateau. It’s constructed of ivy-covered gray stone with a terracotta roof, and accented with wisteria-lined balconies. Before the reception, your guests are welcomed into the VIP Room, which features oak hardwood floors, a black baby grand piano, mahogany bar, stone fireplace, overstuffed sofas and wingbacked chairs. For formal seated functions, the VIP dining area, with its overhead chandelier, sets an elegant tone. For larger functions, both the Private Tasting Room and the Barrel Room are available. A real plus is the well-designed bride’s changing room, which has a four-poster bed, full length mirror and its own powder room.
Byington has also built an underground cave for the aging of their red wines, which speaks to their commitment to quality. In order to completely capture the experience of the cave, they have added the “Caveau,” a private area that hosts intimate dinners. Byington is extremely service oriented, and the staff prides itself on providing all their clients with lots of personal attention.

Fees & Deposits
For weddings, 50% of the rental fee is a nonrefundable deposit required when the contract is signed. The balance is due 6 months prior to the event. Rental fees for a ceremony only range $1,000–1,500. For ceremony and reception combined, rental fees range $2,900–5,800.
For weekday meetings, the fee is $300–1,000; for weekend business functions, rates vary depending on guest count and services required.
Availability
Year-round. Monday–Friday, 8am–11pm for meetings and business functions. Weddings take place daily, 9am–11pm in 8-hour blocks. Overtime hours are available upon request. Ceremonies (without receptions) can take place on weekends, 9am–2pm, depending on availability. Ceremony-only packages are available.
