Description
Housed in Glendale’s historic Huntley-Evans building, the exquisite banquet facilities of Brandview Collection have a natural elegance that makes even the most routine gathering seem like a special occasion. However, when the building was first built back in 1922, wedding receptions and bar mitzvahs weren’t exactly what Huntley and Evans had in mind. Their original tenant was Pendroy’s, the first department store in town. But the merchandise was upstaged by the building itself which the newspapers called “the finest structure yet erected in Glendale.” The three-story brick edifice was considered very “moderne” and became a local symbol for the prosperity of the Roaring Twenties. With the advance of the Depression, most of Pendroy’s became offices. Luckily, the Huntley-Evans Building was declared a Historic Landmark and has been lovingly restored with the same noble quality that once awed its patrons.
The interior also retains a nostalgic style and lends Brandview Collection a sophisticated, Art Deco flair. A pair of heavy oak doors marks the entrance to a refined foyer that instantly establishes an upscale tone. A magnificent spiral staircase with ornate banisters sweeps up to the second floor ballrooms, and a leisurely ascent allows for an up-close look at the enormous beaded crystal chandelier and matching sconces that light the way.
The two expansive ballrooms, “The Grand” and “The Brand,” can be used separately or combined for a lavish gala of up to 450 guests. The walls are awash in a delicious shade of pale peach with raised white curlicue designs on the cornices, and the glow from vintage light fixtures creates a romantic allure. You can almost envision society ladies of yore dripping in fur stoles and trying on smart little cloche hats at Pendroy’s… You’re brought back to the 21st century by the view of the city lights through two long rows of windows, nicely finished in rich draperies and valances. Though both ballrooms feature the same glamorous décor, the Grand boasts a large permanent dance floor polished to a high gleam; the Brand comes with a separate lounge area, and guests can sip cordials at an oak bar topped with black marble and lit with sleek hanging lamps. Floor-to-ceiling windows look out across trees and rooftops to the hills beyond.
Brandview Collection is a full-service venue, and everything is customized. Their event coordinator will help you design your menu from an exciting array of international gourmet offerings, as well as handle every detail from flowers and decorations to music. She’ll also assist you in getting the most for your budget. During your special event, Brandview Collection becomes your private palace, and all you have to do is show up!

Fees & Deposits
A $1,000 nonrefundable deposit is required to reserve your date. 30% of the estimated event total is due 30 days prior to the event, and the balance is due 5 days prior. Lunches start at $28/person, dinners at $35/person. Tax, alcohol and an 18% service charge are additional. A ceremony setup fee starts at $400.
For corporate meetings or midweek events, prices vary; call for details.
