Located just a quarter mile from Diamond Peak in Incline Village, Big Water Grille masterfully balances being a special destination with being a favorite dining spot of the locals. Clad in river rock, the residential building is on a slope just steep enough and jutting just far enough off the shoreline that you feel like you're getting away from it all. A clean, modern interior with high ceilings and recessed lighting gives the restaurant's three levels an open, airy feel. The striking artwork is by top local artists, but fabulous as they are, it's tough to compete with that irresistible view of the lake visible everywhere through soaring glass walls.
There's enormous flexibility in planning how to use the facility for your celebration but most wedding parties are drawn first to the inviting, outside deck. Here, you can exchange vows, framed by majestic pines as the sparkling water is tinted by the sunset, or you can enjoy cocktails while drinking in nature's beauty. Afterwards your guests can easily move inside through the glass doors to the lounge-styled Bar Area for butler-passed appetizers and the restaurant's signature seafood raw bar, a spectacular array of the week's freshest catch. With its polished wood floor and comfy sofas, this area provides a great clubby atmosphere for dancing, and its massive stone fireplace is a perfect photo backdrop for cutting your cake or even staging your ceremony during the winter months.
Dinner is served in the Dining Room, built on two levels to take advantage of that ever-present view, which now faces some strong competition from the highly acclaimed, mouth-watering presentations from Executive Chef Jay Veregge. Influenced early on by the different culinary traditions from his French father and Italian mother, Veregge studied throughout Europe, then made his mark at some of San Francisco's finest eateries, including the renowned Stars, before moving to Big Water Grille. His philosophy of "market basket cuisine" is evident in the alchemic magic that turns fresh local and regional ingredients into a seasonally changing bill of fare that is at once accessible yet innovative. Nothing "frou-frou," just top-quality foods with a tantalizing twist. That same care is taken with an intriguing wine list that offers more than the "same old, same old." In fact, if you're planning an intimate reception or rehearsal dinner, wine lovers in your party will appreciate the Wine Cellar, a sophisticated private setting separate from the Main Dining Room.
And since this is Nevada, where there are no restrictions on when to end your music or have last call, if you buy out the restaurant they will let you set your own hours so you can start later in summer to catch the sunset and then party the night away.

Why We Like This Place
Catching just a glimpse of Lake Tahoe, with its brilliant color and amazing clarity, can take your breath away. But big views of Big Blue, as the country's only alpine lake is affectionately known, can sometimes be hard to find for your wedding day festivities. That is, until you get to Big Water Grille, a North Shore mecca where your nearest and dearest can revel for hours in what are arguably the area's most spectacular and unobstructed vistas.Located just a quarter mile from Diamond Peak in Incline Village, Big Water Grille masterfully balances being a special destination with being a favorite dining spot of the locals.
