Why We Like This Place
If boats could talk, what tales the Adventures at Sea fleet could tell! Collectively, the four Marina del Rey-based yachts have entertained movie stars, politicians, playboys, and proletariat alike.
Set foot on an Adventures at Sea yacht and you encounter a classy operation: each vessel is meticulously maintained—it’s as sleek and well-groomed as a thoroughbred. Mahogany and teak boiseries gleam; brass railings sparkle. Quality is the byword here. It defines all aspects of an Adventures at Sea event, from the gracious uniformed staff to the meals, which are exquisite in taste as well as presentation.
Weddings on board are exhilarating—exchange vows dockside or while the yacht’s underway, plying the harbor’s gentle waters. And if you want to take full advantage of the maritime motif, enlist the ship’s captain to perform your ceremony.
Big galas are suited to the Marina Hornblower. Reminiscent of a Mississippi paddle-wheeler, this spacious, stunning blue-and-white vessel has all the amenities for a terrific party: a parquet dance floor, full galley and two bars.
Adventures at Sea’s nostalgic Zumbrota is a Roaring Twenties masterpiece rich in history: Mae West and Douglas Fairbanks both took their turns at ownership. The Zumbrota is a truly majestic vessel, showcasing walls paneled in Burmese teak, a bar with whimsical brass elephant-head fixtures and the wheelhouse’s original compass.
Also available for events is the Dream On. This custom-built beauty, with a large main salon and comfortable bow area, provides all the modern features you might expect of a luxury liner. Guests can dine and dance on the roomy and fully enclosable upper deck, while taking in the spectacular view of the Marina del Rey harbor. Nice touches like wide staircases and a private “bride’s cabin” right next to the ceremony area make having a wedding on board a breeze.

Fees & Deposits
A $1,000–6,000 deposit (depending on the vessel’s size) is required to book a boat; the balance is payable 30 days prior to the event. Adventures at Sea Yacht Charters offers wedding packages starting at $70/person that include boat rental, food, cake, non-alcoholic beverages and a ceremony by the captain. Hourly boat rental rates and à la carte services can also be arranged.
