Services

Planning a green wedding? Pollen is the perfect floral designer for any couple trying to minimize their wedding’s environmental impact. A boutique floral design studio with an eco-friendly focus, they specialize in the use of locally-sourced and sustainably-grown flowers. They also work in harmony with each season, saying there are always amazing flowers in bloom, no matter what time of year your wedding falls!

Founder Lynn Fosbender has a simple but straightforward philosophy: “Pollen passionately expresses each client’s unique vision while offering the most sustainable flower options possible.” And her brides couldn’t agree more. They loved how Lynn asked so many insightful questions and really tried to get to know them as people. Her arrangements are naturalistic, organic, and even quirky, with bits of the couple’s personal style always woven throughout.

Contact Lynn by phone or email to schedule a consultation. Pricing is $2,500 minimum within Chicago during wedding season; $4,000 minimum for suburban Chicago delivery during wedding season.

Certified By The Guide Reviews

(What does this mean?)
These Reviews are from real brides who have used this vendor's services—pulled straight from their Certified by The Guide reference check. We only post reviews that we have collected, so we can feel confident that they are the real deal. Yes, we know. We're control freaks.

“Pollen was my favorite vendor of our wedding and my favorite person to work with. Our wedding would not have been what it was without her creativity and thoughtfulness.”

“I chose more non-traditional, non-florals for our winter wedding, and Lynn surpassed every expectation. Our guests STILL talk about the ‘plant art’ and about how incredible every artful detail was.”

“The flowers looked so beautiful they made me cry—and I didn’t cry at any other time on my wedding day. Those beautiful flowers just got me!”

“I had several guests tell me they were the most unique and beautiful flowers they’d ever seen at a wedding.”

“When you hire Lynn, you know you’re getting someone who will treat you and your wedding with tons of respect and will work her hardest to make your dream a reality. She takes great pride in her work and it shows.”

“I really liked her naturalistic style and the fact that she was committed to running her business in an eco-friendly manner.”

“Lynn focuses on purchasing local flowers whenever possible and sustainably grown flowers when local blooms aren’t available. She also composts all the stems, leaves, and other floral ‘trash’ created in the process of creating bouquets and arrangements.”

“She was easy to talk to and had fantastic advice and recommendations.”

“Lynn is very personable, and was excellent at guiding us through all the possible flower choices.”

“Pollen was the best thing that happened to my wedding! Other than the marriage part.”

“I am NOT exaggerating when I say that Lynn’s work set the entire tone for our wedding.”

“Lynn most definitely worked with our budget—even coming in under it!!! Gotta love that!”

“The bottom line is that she creates beautiful designs, offers great customer service, and uses ethically-sourced materials as often as possible. I’d use her again in a heartbeat.”

Questions and Answers

What 3 words best describe your work? Nature-inspired, seasonal, eco-conscious.

Why should someone hire you? Pollen is a great fit for couples who want to incorporate some eco-friendly aspects into their wedding. We work with locally grown flowers as much as possible, and strive to minimize our waste. Our favorite style is soft, garden-y, and a little organic. This style works well with both elegant and more casual venues.

What is the best advice you give a couple when planning their wedding? Work with vendors who you enjoy spending time with, and who will reduce the stress that can go along with planning a wedding.

What's your favorite quote? "Begin—the rest is easy." —Wise words from a fortune cookie.

If you weren't in your current profession, what would you do instead? I'd go back to school to learn GIS (Geographic Information Systems), which I dabbled in at a previous job. It's a different avenue for making pretty things (maps!), while requiring analytical skills as well. Yes, I'd make pretty and informational maps.
