Why We Like This Place

The Gwinnett Historic Courthouse gives new meaning to a courthouse wedding. With its traditional brick façade, manicured grounds, and romantic turret (great for the bouquet toss!), this building captures the elegance of a bygone era. The outdoor gazebo is a perfect ceremony site, framed by trees that provide shade from the Georgia sun. Inside, you’ll find vintage chandeliers, palladian windows, plantation shutters, crown molding and wainscoting—all of which give this event space a wealth of detail and charm. Built in 1885 in the heart of downtown Lawrenceville, the Courthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It’s also conveniently close to GA-Highway 316 and I-85, and provides plenty of free parking.

Fees & Deposits

50% of the estimated total event cost is required to reserve your date, and the balance is due 60 days prior to the event. The rental fee is $170/hour. A damage deposit is required: $400 for ballroom rentals and $200 for gazebo rentals. Deposits are refunded if there is no overage in time or damage to the venue. Alcohol requires a police officer presence; no alcohol is allowed outside the building. Time for setup and cleanup should be included in the hours rented. There is an 8-hour minimum for Saturday, a 4-hour minimum for Friday and Sunday. All event vendors are required to carry insurance and complete paperwork.
