Why We Like This Place

• Its cool architecture and lushly planted grounds, inspired by the area’s original seaports and farming heritage, are a great backdrop for bringing history—and your event—alive at this dynamic cultural center.

• Burr Homestead, a gracious, early-American mansion surrounded by four acres of gardens and reflecting pools, has a romantic history. Located just a short walk from the museum,  this gorgeous estate not only played host to many of the country’s founding fathers—including George Washington—but John Hancock was actually married here.

• Breathtaking views of Fairfield’s Historic Town Green can be had from both of the museum’s main event spaces—the soaring post-and-beam Jacky Durrel Meeting Hall and the Engelman Reception Hall.
