Why We Like This Place

So…you’re planning an intimate party for 1,000 of your best friends. And you want to be close to the beach and have gorgeous views. Where on earth can you find such a place? Avila Beach Resort between San Luis Obispo and Pismo Beach! This is a golf course with a special events facility, the largest on the Central Coast. It’s an exceptional destination for banquets, weddings and other celebrations, affording breathtaking panoramic views of Avila Beach, Avila Valley and the Pacific Ocean.

The primary event area is an expansive, manicured lawn situated between the fairway’s ninth and tenth holes. From here you can see for miles, watch the water ebb and flow out of Avila Beach and take in a glorious sunset. The lawn can accommodate up to 3,000 guests! And if you’d like an outdoor event with an indoor feel, set up a tent (or two!) on the lawn. Using a little imagination, you can customize the mood inside the tent, from glitzy and elegant to sultry nightclub chic. Tents come with clear-sided panels so you’ll always have a guaranteed beach view. The resort provides a portable dance floor and can accommodate the needs of any size band. Just steps from the event area, you can host a more intimate reception inside the banquet room, which is warmed by a small fireplace.

Avila Beach Resort can handle the grandest parties with ease. Some of the events it plays host to every year are the Central Coast Wine Classic, the Memorial Weekend Beer & Blues Festival, Pops by the Sea Concert, and many other concerts. What brings them back time after time? The loveliness of the setting—especially at night, when the lighted tents glow like giant lanterns against the dark background of the ocean.

And the service. No matter how large or small your group is, your guests will always feel well taken care of. The resort staff will spare no effort to make sure everything is perfect, down to the tiniest detail. No wonder they were chosen by Strictly Business Magazine as the winner of the Best of Business Banquet Services Award. It’s unusual for a facility that serves large numbers of people so effortlessly to retain its warm-and-comfy quality, but this one does. And that’s the truth.

CEREMONY CAPACITY: The Beachfront Lawn accommodates up to 3,000 seated for an outdoor, oceanfront ceremony. The Ocean View Terrace accommodates 150 seated for a tented, indoor ceremony, and the Mountain View Ceremony site holds 250 seated outdoors.

EVENT/RECEPTION CAPACITY: The Banquet Room holds 60 seated indoors. Ocean View Terrace—Tented holds 120 seated with an outdoor dance floor, 80 seated with an indoor dance floor, or 150 standing; Ocean View Terrace—Under The Stars holds 200 seated or 350 standing. Beachfront Lawn—Tented accommodates up to 150 seated with a dance floor, or 250 standing; Beachfront Lawn—Under The Stars holds up to 250 seated or 350 standing. Custom Tented and Under The Stars Options are available for parties of 250 and up.

Fees & Deposits

A $1,000 nonrefundable deposit is required to reserve the date. 50% of the balance is due 90 days prior, and the final balance is due 14 days prior to the event. Rental fees (including bartending services) range $2,500–8,500 depending on the space rented.
