Questions and Answers

What 3 words describe your work? Fun, artistic, photojournalistic.

Tell us about your company name. Liam Photography is named after my son, Liam.

Why should someone hire you? If I have the style you are looking for, it comes bundled up with a good attitude, passion, and an appreciation for your day.

What are some sources of inspiration or influences on your work? It keeps me motivated to try new things, practice the old, tweak my approach and be humble.

Tell us about a favorite, unusual or most interesting moment at a wedding: Years back, I shot a wedding for a bride who had told people she would not cry at her wedding. At the reception her sister got on a piano and along with her dad, played a beautiful version of "Let It Be" with the goal of getting her sister to cry. It was very beautiful but not THAT emotional until the verse after the first chorus, where every guest in that room joined in the singing. She did give in—it was absolutely amazing.
Other favorite memories include:
• 30-degree temperature outside with snow on the ground for a wedding in North Carolina—where the bride was doing a snow angel for a photo.
• A very obedient flower dog.
• Being the photographer and the witness (yes, a VERY small wedding).

What makes a wedding memorable for you? Speeches can be quite amazing. And witnessing strong friendships.

What have weddings taught you? That being adaptable is key to great wedding photography.

What is the best advice you give to a couple when planning their wedding? Be 100% sure you like a vendor's personality, not just their work.

If you could have any superpower on the job, what would it be? The ability to teleport.

What are 3 words that describe your personality? Happy, optimistic and caring.

What's your favorite marriage advice? Stay patient and calm through the hard times. It is part of life.

Extracurricular activities: Cooking, making homemade bread, playing the sax (tenor and bari), running, surfing, riding a bike.

If you weren't in your current profession, what would you do instead? I would love to open a bakery! I absolutely love to cook and have a lifelong goal of developing the perfect pizza recipe at home.

What's your favorite way to wind down after a hard day? Playing soccer at the beach with my kid.

What are some of your favorite places to eat—either everyday spots or special occasion splurges? The Taco Temple in Morro Bay.
