Melissa Fitzpatrick and her husband Martin have been photographing weddings together on the Central Coast for almost a decade. Getting her start in commercial and fashion photography, Melissa’s images are artistic and stylized while Martin takes a more candid, photojournalistic approach. But brides tell us the best part about Fitzpatrick Studios is how they perfectly balance the formality with the fun—making the picture-taking process comfortable and enjoyable for everyone involved.

Questions and Answers

What 3 words describe your work? Classic. Elegant. Timeless.

Why should someone hire you? We take great pride in our work and do whatever it takes to create beautiful images for our clients while being sensitive and unobtrusive.

What drew you to this field/how did you get started? I loved taking photos all the way back to high school, but at first, I wasn't very good at it! So I took a few classes and was hooked. I loved that I could use my camera as a tool to create art as I see it and realized that no two people see things the same way, so what I create is unique to me.

What is your favorite quote? "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."

What makes a wedding memorable for you? Definitely the people I meet.

What have weddings taught you? Every person is unique and every relationship is unique.

What is the best advice you give to a couple when planning their wedding? Start as early as possible, be organized and most importantly, enjoy the process of planning your wedding.

If you could have any superpower on the job, what would it be? To be invisible. That would be really great.

Extracurricular activities: Golf, remodeling our 100-year-old home, and home decorating.
