Oh, the things we have to do at this job…

In case you, dear readers, don’t know, I’m the new baby to the Here Comes The Guide family. Since I started, I’ve talked to countless clients on the phone, but I was eager for an opportunity to put faces to names and find out what this whole industry is really like. Not too long ago, the soiree-adept Denise and I tore ourselves away from emails and phone calls, freshened our hair and makeup and drove up to Geyserville for the Your Wedding Day magazine launch at the gorgeous Trentadue Winery.

articles_altFeel bad for us yet? We had to eat delicious hors d’oeuvres, lovingly prepared and beautifully presented by Park Avenue Catering and coupled with one of the best champagnes I’ve ever tasted (produced by said winery.)

Everything was top-notch, from the quirky/creative flower arrangements by Nancy Liu Chin, Waterlily Pond, and Fleurs de France to the shimmery golden tablecloths by Wildflower Linens. And after we oohed and ahhed over the sparkly bronze menus done by Peculiar Pair Press (check out their lattice wedding invitations in their wedding section!), we got a chance to chat with Certified by the Guide event pros Maxine Andrew and Nancy Liu Chin herself as we wined and dined. Of course they weren’t the only familiar faces we saw. We also got to catch up with Joyce, Jewel, Pat, and Natasha (to name a few!). main_alt

On the way out, I knew I had to stop by the wine tasting room to buy a bottle of that Syrah we had at lunch. And maybe a little champagne…When we got there, we ran into two of our new photogs, Darcy and Lisa. We danced a little salsa, talked a little fashion, and I tried not to drop my wine bottle.

It’s a rough life, isn’t it?

Granted, I get to live in Hawaii, but this is definitely an above average j-o-b. I look forward to reading more of your stuff Julia.

This might have been Juila’s first outting as an offical Hoppie but you would have never known it.  This girl networks like a pro.  I was glad that Julia was the one who joined me for this great event.  We had so much fun.

Thanks, Denise! We did have fun! But truly, you are the one to learn from, in the 5-inch heels!

What a fun event!  I am so happy to meet Julie and Denise face to face after so many phone conversations!  You guys are the bomb!
