Woods Hole at Pebble Beach

We recently held our annual off-site 3-day planning meeting at Woods Hole—a private home right on Pebble Beach Golf Course—and it’s a wonder we got anything done. Lounging around on comfy couches and chairs, we had the perfect seats from which to ogle the mesmerizing view through a wall of glass: verdant blufftop fairways giving way to a sapphire-blue sea and cloudless sky. You try focusing on a 10-page to-do list with that gorgeous panorama constantly tugging at your peripheral vision!

Woods Hole at Pebble BeachWell, we did have an incentive to finish everything on the list as quickly as possible: free time to relax in our 6-bedroom getaway or stroll along the links (when the golfers had gone home) or take a quick drive to Carmel or Point Lobos. Some of us even climbed down to the tide pools at the base of the bluffs to pet starfish and admire the artful way sea kelp arranges itself over the rocks. And every night we watched the sun slip below the horizon, turning the sky a brilliant orange as it disappeared into the water. Sigh. This place is so romantic—too bad our better halves weren’t there to share it with us.

Seriously, this is a fabulous place for a bachelorette party…or a wedding, family reunion or any intimate event where you want everyone to feel at ease.

I’ll always remember our stay at Woods Hole, a perfect piece of paradise! All our beds were really comfy, there were plenty of premium linens and even extra air beds for extra guests who don’t mind the floor (thanks, Julia!).

I think I must have set a record for eating the most chocolate chip cookies in one sitting…I don’t allow myself those treats at home, but amongst my gal pals? Pass the cookie jar, please!

We truly had an unforgettable time at Woods Hole. And how nice is it to stay in a place that has a fully equipped kitchen? It was a home away from home, with a much nicer view!

Oh, and Jo, I’m almost positive I ate more cookies than you.
