Here’s a little trick you can learn from the kids these days.
A couple of years ago I was at a bat mitzvah and I noticed all the girls had kicked off their new strappy heels when it came time for dancing. No surprise! But what caught my eye was that they were all wearing the same little white socks—like they had planned it in advance. “Oh, no” my niece told me. “There’s a basket of them over by the DJs so everyone can have a pair.”
Brilliant!
Apparently it’s not uncommon at bar and bat mitzvahs—and it must be happening more and more at weddings, because you can even get customized grippy socks! That’s a wedding favor I’d appreciate.

I’m very good at walking in heels, but I need to get a pair of black strappy 4” heels. I have no desire to break my neck or walk around in pain. Any advice on brands or brands to avoid?
