Some Favorable Wedding Favors

Here’s one simple wedding truth: your guests will remember your wedding favors more than a lot of the other details you’ve agonized over—simply because they take the favors home with them! I still have the wedding favor from a wedding I attended almost 20 years ago: satin roses with wire stems tied in a heart. It’s found a cozy home in my office drawer, and it gives me a daily smile. Mine was a traditional Middle Eastern wedding, so I gave out the customary gauzy pouch of 5 almonds, symbolizing 5 wishes for our future together: health, happiness, wealth, fertility and longevity.
I love tradition, but there are so many innovative ideas out there that guests are certain to hang onto for years to come. The two hearts magnets in a little card-themed gift box at Magic Wand Weddings is totally adorable, and miniature bird nests with candy eggs from Beau-Coup Wedding Favors would definitely add whimsy to a spring or summer wedding. Another summer favorite-in-the-making are these personalized sunscreen bottles from Unveiled. I also like the customized mint tins from Beau-Coup. They would be perfect at a wine country wedding, to sweeten guests’ “wine breath” after the reception.

I’m partial to favors you can plant—the paperwhite bulbs I got from a wedding three years ago have spread their sweet fragrance for two winters in a row. At another, I actually planted the wildflower seeds, watered regularly, and had a pretty spring surprise.
I am partial to wedding favors which evoke the location or region where the wedding took place.
My favorite recent find was at Still Waters Vineyards in Paso Robles (http://www.herecomestheguide.com/location/detail/still-waters-vineyards/), where you can have them custom-bottle some of their own olive oils, made from olives grown on the very trees which shaded your ceremony, as favors for your guests. It’s delicious, useful and different. I am just so darn tired of candied almonds!
I can see that you are putting a lot of time and effort into your blog and detailed articles! I am deeply in love with every single piece of information you post here. Will be back often to read more updates!
Cheers,

All the favors I got from attending weddings and parties are in a glass case. I always keep them as a reminder of the special events I was a part of.
A personalized favor would also be a great favor to give to your guests
You are so right! A good choice of wedding favor can really make a long lasting impression to your guests. There are so many wedding favors available both at local and online stores, and don’t forget to make them personalized.
Wow, you gave away pouches with five diamonds inside? It’s easy to see why people will remember a favor when it’s that kind of favor! For my wedding I’m still trying to pick the perfect favor, but I’m having trouble deciding…I want something unique but appropriate.

as for me wedding favors should give guests some idea about the personality of the couple. I’d like it to be DIY. the more it is handcrafted, the more the guests appreciate it.

Announcement Magnets are also a great pre-wedding favor. They are perfect for family to hag on their fridge and brag about the happy couple.
I think that wedding favors are great, however I would also urge people not to go crazy spending too much money on it. After all, there’s no point money problems often cause divorces so it’s best to start a marriage on good terms.

I still have a favor that I got a number of years ago—a little metal apple place card holder. (The couple had bowls of different varieties of apples as cheery, edible centerpieces.) Whenever I get a card I love from someone, I stick it there. It’s my rotating art space.
Another favorite wedding favor is one that is long-gone: salt water taffy in simple paper bags from friends who got married at the Jersey shore.
