Napa and Sonoma may have made California wine famous way back when, but there are world-class wineries up and down this state’s varied valleys.

Robert Hall WineryAs proof, one of our favorite Central Coast wineries has been cleaning up on accolades from all over the globe. Robert Hall Winery’s 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon was awarded a Double Gold medal at this year’s International Eastern Wine Competition. And rumor has it they just took home a shiny 4-Star Gold Medal at the Orange County Fair Wine Competition for their 2007 Viognier.

The one downside: As their list of awards keeps getting longer and longer, so does my monthly wine bill. You gotta sample the best, right?

I think I speak for all the lushes at Here Comes The Guide when I say, congratulations, Robert Hall Winery! Now pass me that 2007 Chardonnay.
