Talk about a green wedding! Has anyone seen these plantable wedding invitations and favors? Guests can actually plant the paper to grow their own wildflowers as a lasting memory of your wedding.

The philosophy is brilliant. With these recycled cotton paper goods, you’re also giving back to the earth!

articles_altTheir cards, gift wrap, and YES, wedding invitations are all biodegradable and have seeds embedded in them. Each paper is made with different wildflower combinations like California Bluebell and Evening Primrose.

One small warning though: if you order these for invites, just make sure your guests know the date and time of your event before they eagerly plant the invitations!

Have you seen this recent post about green wedding invitations on Style Me Pretty? I love how Twig and Fig has carefully planned all their materials and printing to make their company so eco-friendly. And they have breathtaking invitations on their site.

Recently I traveled to Oregon as I had received a call that my sister who had pancreatic cancer was going very rapidly. If I felt the need to try to see her, I should be on my way, before she moved on.  Unfortunately or I might say fortunately, this time of year you can not fly from Mazatlan, Mexico to Medford, Oregon in one day, so I spent the night in LA at the Marriott.  I felt the need for something sweet and went to there wonderful little store in the hotel.  As if they were magnets I was pulled to these beautiful cards made by a company you can find online at http://www.plantablepaper.com.  The boxes were very attractively packaged, clear so you could see what color your cards were with a beautiful ribbon on the outside.  I bought three boxes.  The day my sister died, I didn’t really feel a need to be at her home immediately.  I started addressing the plantablepaper cards to family and friends asking them to plant some flowers for Leslie.  The three boxes were just enough. I didn’t feel like anyone had been left out at that time. I also contacted the plantable paper company about a possibility of a discount if I ordered some more to have at Leslie’s memorial.  The two people I dealt with in E-mails were Erin and Jason.  This was also Memorial Day weekend.  I received an answer on Sunday. They came up with a plan that worked for me for buying some more cards. Monday was a holiday, but my cards arrived on Friday of that week and I was able to take a beautiful basket decorated with the ribbons from the boxes, of the plantable paper cards to Leslie’s memorial. We had a little note asking people if they wanted to plant flowers for Leslie, to feel free to take a card or two.  I had no cards left out of the additional 20 boxes that I had ordered.  I also plan to order at least one more box of cards to insert the memorial card about Leslie for people unable to make it to the celebration of Leslie’s life! This company is incredible, great service, wonderful product and easy to communicate with by E-mail! Cindi
