Inscribed Wedding Band

I loved the sweet story on Miho Walsh and Roy Prieb in a recent New York Times Vows column. They met over dim sum with friends and eventually turned their long-distance courtship into marriage. Besides the fact that they somehow pulled off celebrations in Tokyo, Bangkok and New York, what completely charmed me was the words engraved on Mr. Prieb’s wedding band: “You win some, you dim sum.”

Not your boring old wedding date inscription!

So adorable! My hubbie and I met in a dorm cafeteria, so our inscription probably wouldn’t have been as romantic/cute (“meet you at the salad bar!”)

I guess it’s good we didn’t inscribe our wedding bands after all…

When my Grandmother Jeanne died, I found her wedding band which she hadn’t worn for years. It fit perfectly on my ring finger, and 15 years later I was married with it. I loved that my grandfather Charlie had had it inscribed before he gave it to her: “From C to J” and the date of their wedding. Inscription adds both a personal and a historical touch which, as in this example, can be appreciated for generations to come!

What a touching story! They sound like a very creative couple and I am sure their rings and their love story will be cherished by future generations of their family

I read that New York Times story.  It was touching then and touching when I read it here.  I love the sense of humor when it came to inscribing their rings.  Thanks for sharing with the people that have not had the opportunity to read the original story.

I read the story also.  I love the idea of a personal message on the inside of the ring that is unique to every couple.  I recently saw a ring inscribed that said “Sunsets, Always”.

I love the individuality of inscriptions that is so personal to each couple.
