Creative Ways to Save on Your Wedding

This morning while I was getting my daily dose of sanity from Divine Caroline, I stumbled across a piece that took me by surprise. A bride auctioned off a space in her wedding party to help pay for her wedding. And it worked! I must give this woman credit for thinking way outside the wedding budget box.

The article made me wonder about all the other couples out there using creative ways to save on their wedding. Everyone wants to conserve cash nowadays, but how are they actually doing it?

Instead of gifts, my husband and I asked our friends to help with the reception. We had 2 grillmasters, both dear friends and excellent cooks! All the meat was gifted to us. One woman helped by coordinating what was needed, and most of it was done by wedding website and email. When the reception was over, the comment I heard was, “You really know how to throw a party!”

I had so much fun, now I have potlucks for musicians once a month!

For my sisters wedding, I get to be the bridesmaid, driver to my siblings, and did the souvenirs. That is what you call saving.
