In addition to the work I do for Here Comes The Guide, Maxine Andrew of Instead of You! Coordination and Design, calls upon me a few times a year to be her right-hand woman for the weddings she produces. I adore working with her. Maxine’s an amazing designer and I love helping her vision come alive.
I spent my 4th of July at The Carneros Inn in Napa for the wedding of Christy & Christian. It was such a treat to be a part of this event. Not only did I get to go to one of my favorite places in Wine Country, but I got to witness a truly beautiful wedding.

Being Maxine’s right-hand woman can be glamorous, but it’s also a lot of hard work. I spent a good portion of the afternoon in the sweltering sun, slipping Wildflower Linen’s white linen chair covers over 90 Chiavari chairs and then squirting each one with water to get any wrinkles out. But when I saw the finished product, I’m proud to say that the sunburn on my back was well worth it. And in a way, I should be thanking Maxine: I think I did over 100 squats that day, so I got my exercise in!
100 Layer Cake just featured the event on their blog, and I thought Guide Brides might want to check it out here.
I’m so glad this event is getting some well-deserved exposure. The pictures by Jose Villa and the images Joel Serrato captured for their video truly show the personality, style and love that Christy and Christian share. It was fun to see them both in action!

For the flowers, i just looked on websites of local florists in the area where the wedding was going to be and they all had actual pictures of their flowers so you can make sure they look the way you want before ordering.
I am thinking about hiring DJ Saint Patrick for my wedding. Would your recommend him?
Thanks! :)
Rebecca,
Congrats on your upcoming wedding!! In regards to DJ Saint Patrick, the dance floor at Christy & Christian’s wedding was packed and he played many of my favorite dance sounds. However, because he isn’t Certified By The Guide, it’s a good idea to ask him for references and speak with the people who have hired him. Here is a list of questions that could be useful in your search for the right DJ for your wedding: http://www.herecomestheguide.com/wedding-party-ideas/detail/questions-to-ask-when-interviewing-djs-or-live-entertainment/
Don’t forget to check out the all of the vendors who we have certified, http://www.herecomestheguide.com/service/search/
Good luck with your wedding planning and we wish you much happiness!

I just wanted to come back to say thank you for the advice. I did go through a billion questions with him and did end up hiring St. Patrick. & he was truly a Saint! He went above and beyond his duties as DJ and kept everyone dancing until they kicked us out of our venue! I seriously don’t think I’ve ever seen so many people dancing for so long at a wedding! One of my friends has since hired him for her upcoming wedding too! Too bad he’s not registered with the guide!
Thanks again for your help!
