A Fashion Fix for Bridesmaids Dresses

Wouldn’t it be nice to have a bridesmaid dress in your closet that you never once had the urge to “accidentally” decorate with nail polish before the big day?

As a rule, bridesmaids’ dresses are like uniforms, and who wants to wear a uniform to a wedding? No two women look equally great with a plunging neckline, spaghetti straps, or a big fat bow tied at the butt (actually, NO woman looks fab with the big fat bow…period). articles_alt

There’s a new solution, and it seems almost too good to be true. twobirds offers a bridesmaid’s dress in 11 yummy colors that can be worn up to ten (yes, TEN!) different ways. One dress fits women size 0-16, and it’s simple, flowy, and will look totally at home at a California wedding—or even a night on the town with the girls. Each maid can tailor the style to themselves, and they’ll still look great for pictures. You can also opt for color-matching wraps and neckties for the groomsmen.

Brides, take note. Think about it this way: torture your bridesmaids now, and they may just have to pay you back for it when they get hitched themselves…petticoats, anyone?

Great tip!

I know, the colors are SO great. I wish I could have one to do a little more “market research” for HCTG.

My bridesmaids weren’t so lucky. They all had little matching boleros that I made them wear inside the stuffy church...in August. Meanwhile, my arms were bare. I was so mean!

These are great.  They would work for someone who is pregnant too.  Why not?

I got married 3 years ago…
And guess what the bridesmaids wore??
This dress!! Only it was from the original designer!!!
I have the photos to prove it!!
Two Birds stole this idea from Butter by Nadia of Brooklyn who has been making this dress and selling it through Calypso for years (in exceptional fabrics mind you). It can also be seen on Layla Ali in a recent GOT MILK? advertisement and one of the American Idol contestants from last season wore it in her final performance. Nadia is a struggling one woman fashion phenomenon and Two Birds just ripped her off!! AND.. YES!! to the lady inquiring about pregnancy...My pal wore one of Nadia’s dresses to her baby shower and at 8 months looked absolutely beautiful

They are a big help! I want my Bridesmaids to wear a deep purple dress, Twobirds doesn’t show a deep purple as an option. I emailed them and they quickly responded! And in a week I recieved a card from them with a swatch of the color “grape” they have and can possibly make for the dress since they have a wrap in the color grape. Customer Service- so far so good!

I found a link with instructions to make a dress similar to this, using only one seam! What could be simpler?

Anyone know where I can get a dress like this but cheaper? My bridesmaids and I aren’t very crafty so we can’t make them ourselves.
