Wedding Registry Idea: Pet Photo Sessions

How about adding some puppy (or kitty) love to your wedding gift registry?
Thanks to photographer Mark Rogers for sharing this great idea with us: “My theory is that a lot of couples have been together for ages and have a lot of the traditional houseware-type and standard registry gifts. They’re either asking for unique, off-list type gifts or for donations in their name towards a charity they like.”
Couples can set up a photo shoot with their furry friends and guests can choose the photos and albums they want to purchase.
Honeymoon in Napa Valley

To celebrate my friend Nicole’s 30th birthday in style, we went to Calistoga and spent a night at Indian Springs Resort and Spa. I had been super stressed from all the event planning I had been doing over the summer, so I was really looking forward to a day of relaxation and sun. This was just what the doctor ordered! They have these adorable cottages that were built in the 1940s, and their geyser-fed mineral pool made me feel like I was a part of Old Hollywood.
As I was sunbathing by the pool, I couldn’t help but think what a great location this would be for a Napa Valley honeymoon. Indian Springs is California’s oldest spa and pool facility, so they must be doing something right.
Trashy Chic

We’ve all heard of toilet paper wedding dresses, but what about dresses made of trash?
My 7-year-old niece Anya turned trash into fashion for a recent school project—a perfect assignment for a self-proclaimed fashion hound who changes her clothes 4 times a day! Starting with some netting and a bow from her mother’s old wedding dress, Anya took this outfit to the next level by making plastic grocery bag flowers for the bodice, hem and crown. The petite designer also gave a nod to the colorful wedding gown trend, adding a brightly painted elastic belt and finishing off the look with a crushed soda can-top belt buckle.
What are you going to do with your wedding dress when the day is done? Mine is still just hanging in my closet. Hmmm, I wonder if plastic bags would bring it back in style?
